A Life Worth Keeping - Week 1

What does it mean to build a life that actually lasts? That question sits at the heart of this message, drawn from 1 Corinthians 3:10-15, where Paul uses the vivid image of a builder constructing on a foundation. The foundation itself is non-negotiable -- it is Christ alone. But what we build on top of that foundation is entirely up to us, and the sobering truth is that not everything we build will survive. Some materials endure: gold, silver, precious stones. Others -- wood, hay, straw -- burn away in an instant. The striking and uncomfortable image Paul leaves us with is of a person who makes it to heaven, but just barely, smelling of smoke, having spent a lifetime accumulating things that ultimately counted for nothing eternal. This message challenges us to stop and ask honestly: what are we filling our days with? Are we busy with things that will survive the fire, or have we mistaken a full life for a meaningful one? The difference between the two may be the most important question we ever wrestle with.
