A Life Worth Keeping - Week 2

Oct 11, 2026  •  Pastor Fred Massie

What if the most powerful thing we could do with our lives is something far simpler than we imagine? This message challenges us to reconsider how we measure a life well lived. Drawing from 1 Corinthians, we are reminded that God will one day test the work of our lives, burning away what has no lasting value and preserving what truly matters. And what matters most to God turns out to be people. Every person we encounter is an eternal soul headed somewhere permanent, which means our everyday interactions carry far more weight than we typically assign them. The message of Andrew bringing his brother Simon Peter to Jesus becomes a striking illustration of this truth. Andrew never became the famous one, yet without his simple act of going to find his brother, one of the most pivotal voices in the early church might never have stepped forward. We are called to see people not as they are in their worst moments, but as who God can transform them into. Paul himself, once a violent persecutor of Christians, became the very instrument God used to carry the gospel across the known world. If we can learn to see people through the eyes of eternity, our ordinary moments of connection become extraordinary opportunities with consequences that outlast our lifetimes.
